Greetings from the Committee of the Jubilee Nationals
There are only 6 months to go before flag raising in Hermanus on 16th March 2024, marking the start of yet another Nationals week where old friendships are rekindled, and new connections are made. Your committee has come a long way down the road in their preparations for the tournament; an event which we believe is going to hold dear memories for a long time after the flags lower on Thursday 20th March.
Apart from the National Council meeting and other pre-meetings which are to be held at the Windsor Hotel on Sunday 16th March, all the events for the week are going to take place at the Hermanus Golf Club, situated approximately 120 kilometers from the Cape Town International airport.
Tournament format
The tournament will be held over 4 days with each participant completing 3 rounds of golf during that time. Nomadic activities are as follows:
Sunday 16th March National Council Meeting and Flag Raising
Monday 17th March Day 1 and prize-giving
Tuesday 18th March Day 2 and prize-giving
Wednesday 19th March Day 3 and prize-giving
Thursday 20th March Day 4, Flag Lowering and final night’s prize-giving
The golf course
The golf course is exceptionally well-manicured and is a test for the average golfer. It has excellent warm-up facilities, and the management and staff are enthusiastically awaiting our arrival.

Accommodation
There is plenty of varied accommodation on offer and we list those which are in shuttle distance from the centrally located golf course. You can find the options below. Transport will be arranged on planned routes and at regular intervals but please be aware that these will only be in operation within an 8 to 10 kilometers radius from the golf course where all activities will be taking place. Places like Arabella, the Hemel and Aarde Valley, the towns of Stanford to the east and Onrus to the west are too far afield to be effective in getting participants and their partners into the town and in time for golf with the shuttles.
Partner’s Tours
We have 4 mouth-watering partner tours lined up on different days:

Honey Bee Heroes trip to Stanford for a day of beekeeping.

Fernkloof Hike to the waterfalls with an experienced guide
•
Food and Wine pairing at Creation Wines
•
Lunch at Bartho Eksteen Wine Farm including boule and a wine making experience
We will be sending separate registration forms to all the partners who have indicated that they will be joining their partners for the week, on the entry form.
Entertainment
We are planning varied entertainment for three evenings during the week and our aim is to get you there and keep you there! From that spot comes a thousand things including camaraderie, laughter, good times and an unsteady swing!
Entry Form
Attached please find your Entry form to the Jubilee Nationals. These can be filled out electronically or manually so follow the instructions and send them off to your club coordinator as soon as possible but not later than the closing date, 31st October 2024. The entry fee is R4400 per participant with a partner’s supplement of R1200. The partners fee will include all functions, entertainment and meals.
